Two Rivers WI

My sister Joan and her daughter Johanna (husband Luke and son Kaleb) live in Manitowoc WI.  We stayed at a campground only a few minutes north on Memorial Dr. that runs along Lake Michigan.  Our RV site was right across the street from the lake and when the fog lifted we could look out the front of our RV and check out the water.  I call it water view as opposed to water front.

We had a great stay in Manitowoc.  The grandnephew Kaleb is now 18 months old walking and getting into most everything.  Joan, Luke and Johanna are all doing fine as well.  Joan is enjoying retirement and her flowers are looking good.  She may be the only sibling that got any of Ramona’s green thumb.

We took a mandatory road trip to Algoma.  Stop offs at the Flying Pig, Renard’s Cheese, and Bearcat’s Fish market were enjoyed by all.  We stopped to watch the Badger load and leave one day.  The Badger is the last steam powered passenger ship in the US.  It is a ferry that runs between Manitowoc and Ludington MI.  If you look close you can see it is an extension of US #10.  Manitowoc is also home to Cedar Crest Ice cream.  Locally made and sold all around the region.  Good stuff.

On the road north

We have found some favorite campgrounds to stay at on our way north.  Our first stop is a long day but we make it to Whispering Hills near Georgetown KY.  The campground is not too far off of the freeway and has the best facilities we have found in all the sites we have visited.

Our second day is shorter and we stop off at Caboose Lake campground right off the freeway in Remington IN.  We like to stop here as it is very easy to get to and there are RV friendly gas stations to fuel at.
