Adventurer and Toad upgrade

After a great summer in 2013 with travels to the upper Midwest and 56 days in Alaska we decided to go shopping and upgrade our RV.  The 2001 Adventurer served us well, but we wanted something nicer (newer).  In February we went down to Naples to shop for a new unit.  Ted and Bernie Steele got us into this RVing thing so we thought it only appropriate to have them help us with the upgrade.

There are a lot of RV's for sale in the Naples/Fort Meyers area.  We looked at Diesel Pushers and Gas rigs.  There were some new coaches (smaller) and some fancy coaches.  One Winnebago Vectra was out of this world.  The interior looked like it came right out of the Bellagio in Vegas.  Needless to say we didn't buy that one.  Although a diesel would have been nice with more power and a smoother ride, we found that we could get a lot more coach for the amount we could afford with a gas coach.  In the end we found a really nice 2009 Adventurer from a private party in Naples.

Our “Toad” needed an upgrade as well.  The four wheel drive with oversized tires was not only too large but it rode high and was hard to climb into.  So we now have a Honda CRV.  A very popular tow car and is about 1500 lbs. lighter than the truck.
